Your 3-Day Itinerary for Exploring Eryri (Snowdonia)

At Llechwedd Glamping, you’re perfectly situated to explore the stunning Eryri, the restored name for Snowdonia. Eryri translates to “the land of the eagles,” capturing the grandeur of the landscape that awaits you. Enjoy the comfort of your tent as you embark on our curated itinerary, designed to help you experience the best of Eryri’s natural beauty and local charm.

Day 1: Settle In and Explore

  • Arrival: Check in to your tent at 3 PM, settle in, and brew yourself a panad—that’s Welsh for a cuppa.

  • Blaenau Ffestiniog: Take a wander through this historic slate mining town. Grab your essentials from Morrisons or Co-op, see what’s on at Cellb Cinema, and check out the local coffee shops and Welsh gift stores. You might stumble upon the perfect memento or a great spot for your caffeine fix.

  • Outdoor Fun: Drive over to Cwmorthin Waterfalls. It's a short trip offering stunning views and some nature therapy. If you’re up for more, head to Llyn Mair for a walk with unforgettable views.

  • Dinner and Drinks: Wind down with dinner at The Oakeley Arms or The Grapes. Back at your tent, sip on a local beer or cider on your private deck and soak in the views over the quarry, valleys, and Eryri (Snowdonia). It’s the perfect end to your first day.

Day 2: Snowdon Adventure

  • Breakfast: Start your day with one of our breakfast packs and a complimentary tea or coffee. You’ll need that energy for Snowdon!

  • Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon): Ready to tackle Wales’ highest peak? Plan your route and consider hopping on the Sherpa'r Wyddfa Bus. It’s the easiest way to get to the best hiking paths. Forget about parking—take the bus instead. Not a hiker? No worries—the Snowdon Mountain Railway can take you to the top with minimal effort.

Pro Tip: Pack your hiking boots, layers, waterproofs, snacks, water, and sun cream. Snowdon’s serious, so be prepared!

  • Post-Hike Feast: After a day of conquering mountains, grab a hearty meal and a pint at Tafarn Pencei in Porthmadog, Tanronnen Inn in Beddgelert, or The Stables Bar in Betws-y-Coed. You’ve earned it!

  • Evening Chill: Head back to your tent, light a fire, take a hot shower, and unwind. You’ve just tackled Snowdon; now it’s time to relax and enjoy the peace.

Day 3: Slate Mines and Coastal Charm

  • Slate Mining Adventure: Dive into the local history with a Deep Mine Tour at Zip World. It’s a great way to learn about the slate mining heritage, especially if the weather isn’t cooperating.

  • Porthmadog: Explore this charming town with its eclectic mix of charity shops, Portmeirion boutiques, and waterfront eateries. Try Bae Borth in Borth-y-gest for lunch—their gravlax bagel and seafood chowder are spot on. Take a walk to discover hidden coves and sandy beaches.

  • Harlech: Finish your trip in Harlech, where you can explore the stunning castle and enjoy the breathtaking views above the beach or choose to take on one of the hiking paths. Stroll through independent shops, cafes, and don’t miss the castle café for incredible views of the castle and the coastline.
