We’ve always welcomed dogs to Plas Weunydd Hotel and Llechwedd Glamping, and we’re pleased to announce that our off-grid accommodation, Barlwyd Glamping, is now dog-friendly as well. With cosy interiors and views for miles, you’re sure to have an incredible stay.

There are many dog-friendly activities such as walking the Wales Coast Path, visiting pubs, or exploring beaches nearby. Here are some of our favourite activities to do with our furry friends in Snowdonia.

  1. Visit Bodnant Garden. A world-famous garden home to National Collections and Champion Trees. You could spend hours wandering the grounds. Pack a picnic and stay a while, or have a bite at the cafe.

    Tal-y-Cafn, near Colwyn Bay, Conwy, LL28 5RE

  2. Visit Plas yn Rhiw, a delightful manor house with ornamental garden and wonderful views.

    Rhiw, Pwllheli, Gwynedd, LL53 8AB

  3. Visit Penrhyn Castle. With large, luxurious rooms, Gothic stairways and incredible art on the walls Penrhyn Castle is worth a visit with your canine companion. Learn about the sugar and slate fortunes and delve ‘below stairs’ in the Victorian kitchens.

  4. Ride the Ffestiniog Railway. Bring your furry friend on the world’s oldest narrow gauge railway with almost 200 years of history, taking you on a 13½-mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. View forests, lakes and waterfalls, round tight bends (even a complete spiral) clinging to the side of the mountain or tunnelling through it. The Ffestiniog Railway and its infrastructure arel part of the UNESCO “Slate landscape of North Wales” World Heritage Site.

  5. Stop for a drink in Tafarn Y Plu, a lovely community-owned pub with a garden. Whether you’re heading to Criccieth or a bit further to Abersoch, Tafarn Y Plu makes a great little stop for you and your pup.
